Homeless

So, our house sold fast.  Like, 36 hours on the market and we had 2 offers fast.  We close this week (unless I just jinxed it by typing that).  So, since Jon is still here (no, he has not gone to Angola yet), we are going to move into a hotel until he gets his visa.  Hopefully that will be in the next week or two.  Once he gets his visa the kids and I will go to Longview to stay with my mom.  Of course I'm grateful Jon is still here, and thankful for the exra time we've gotten to spend with friends, but we can't begin the process for the rest of our visas until he gets to Angola.  So, the longer he is here, the longer we are here, and our stuff left our house over a month ago.  The kids are getting pretty bored with the meager toys we have here.

Selling a house is not fun.  Well, some of it is fun.  Like buying stuff to stage it and taking pics was fun (even if the house sold before the pics I took were put online), but that was shopping and probably doesn't count.  We repainted our master bedroom, which was a lot of work, but I enjoy painting so it wasn't bad.  The worst part was trying to keep the house clean and then leaving for showings when you have two little ones.  But, we only had to do it for 3 days! (And have awesome friends that let us come over on short notice and stay as long as we need.)  The house went on the market on a Thursday evening, and Monday we had two offers.  As annoying as parts of the selling process can be, and the fact that we will be living in a hotel for a while, we realize the blessing it is that we sold the house so quickly.  Man, it was great having my house so clean!  Even if it was for just a short time....Here is a before and after, although I can't believe I'm posting the before picture.

And here are a few of the kids.  Colson gives us a performance pretty much daily.  But only if she is wearing a dress.  She refuses to dance or sing unless she is wearing a dress.  Seriously.  I have to give her time to go upstairs and put on a dress before I put music on.  I've just now started to have her convinced that sometimes ballerinas do wear pants and shorts.

The kids only have a few more days left on the swing set....
