We flew to Angola on August 31st, so we enjoyed a few more weeks of the Texas heat after Connor's birthday.

We spent a few days in Austin with our family there. We all had a great time, of course, and the kids enjoyed playing with their cousins for one last time before we left.
This is where I frequently found Connor. He would disappear and I'd find him playing in the bath!

get that the bright bags have fun stuff inside!
The 2 pictures above make me think Connor is going to get Owen into a lot of trouble in the future. Owen just looks so trusting, and Connor just looks so devious!

Jon met us in Longview before we drove to Houston for one last weekend of preparation before the big move. The kids were SO beyond excited to see him. Neither one would leave his side for 2 days. Somehow, though, I don't have any pictures from those days. I guess we were all too busy packing everything up!

Once we said our (very tearful) goodbyes in Longview, we drove to Houston for some last minute packing and paperwork. It was great to see our friends one last time. We had a great evening of swimming and food with everyone!

We have been in Angola now for over 3 weeks. We miss everyone back home, and Texas, quite a bit. And of course 2 weeks after we get here my laptop goes on the fritz. Thankfully, Jon was able to have a friend who was coming to Angola for work bring us a new one the other day. So once I get my pictures transferred I'll post about our first month in Africa! We miss you guys and can't wait to see everyone soon! (Well, relatively soon.)
