Earlier this month the movers came and packed up all of our stuff. On the first day, they packed up everything that was to be sent on the boat. I thought I had everything organized and ready. However, when 6 people are scattered throughout your house packing up everything, it's hard to make sure everything that should go goes and everything that should stay stays. I know I will find all kinds of things that weren't meant to go to Africa once I get there and start unpacking. Here are a few photos of what it looked like when the packers took their lunch break.
Two days later, another crew came and packed up everything that went into storage. Fortunately, I was a little better organized that time. So now we have all of our clothes in suitcases, one laundry basket of toys, and are eating with plastic utensils and paper plates. Connor has his travel crib in his room, Colson has a mattress on the floor in her room, and Jon and I have a mattress on the floor in the media room upstairs and are using the guest bathroom. We are trying to keep everything in the smallest amout of space possible while trying to sell the house (more on that in another post). Colson has had a few meltdowns as she realizes certain toys aren't here. For example, it was a catastrophe that she couldn't make me any food in her kitchen. And she was devastated that all of her Barbie's were gone. But we've been playing outside more, and have some amazing friends who have let us come and eat and play several times a week. And Connor loves how much room he has for all of his cars now, and Colson has freedom to dance all over the house!
