July

Most of July was spent at Grandmom's house.  The kids love playing outside and on the lake.  It was a fairly mild month thankfully, as far as Texas summers go.  There was even a weekend where the high temp was in the 60s.  It was awesome.

Running through the sprinkler.

Trying to grab his ninja turtle sprinkler.

Playing in the stream.

Connor and Mommy watching cartoons on the couch.

Fourth of July

Boat time!  The kids love riding around the lake on the boat.  They especially enjoy when they get to help drive.  For the fourth we rode on the boat, did a few fireworks at the house, and then enjoyed the annual fireworks show put on by the lake.  It's always a great show and the kids love it.

She is all about posing for the camera.

Grandmom, Aunt Denisa, Uncle Owen, and Lola enjoying the ride.

Colson and Auntie Ash (about half way through her pregnancy here).

Connor helping me drive the boat.

Colson and Uncle Ben up to no good on the back of the boat.

Colson fell asleep on the ride.

Uncle Ben, Connor, and Colson being silly.

Sparklers!

Another day on the boat.  On the 5th we enjoyed some more boat time and the kids got to play on the island.

Connor loves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Any time he sees anything turtle related he gets super excited.  He was pretty pumped to get to dress as one.

The next week we went to spend a fun week in our new house.  It's basically empty, but the kids have their own rooms and beds, some toys, and the pool, so it was a nice week to relax and spend time with friends.

Enjoying popsicles.

Pool party with friends!

Next we headed back to East Texas.  Dad and JoJo have also purchased a new home, so we had a nice afternoon of family, food, and swimming.

Colson frosting brownies with Auntie Ash.

And enjoying the left overs.  She really is my daughter.

Tough guys, or so they think.

Connor is seriously obsessed with the 'robot'.  He wants to put it in, turn it on, and watch it all the time.  He gets sad when it's time to take it out.  And if he's upset - just ask him if he wants to go see the robot and he's all smiles again.

Uncle Ben doing some grilling.  In his slippers.

Blowing bubbles with Uncle Owen,

Colson has had one haircut in her life (well, two now).  It had been about 2 years since that first cut, and some of her curls were hanging much lower than others, so I figured I'd give her a trim.  Cutting curly hair is not as easy as I thought.  I meant to cut off maybe an inch, but ended up cutting off 2 or 3 I think.  I tend to get carried away (just ask my mom about my dolls as a kid), so fortunately it will grow.

Pretending like I know what I'm doing.  I will be taking her back to a professional again
once we move home.

She can't make a serious face for the camera.

What?  I'm not doing anything!

My grandmother, or Great Grandmom as the kids call her, and Papa Jerry were able to come visit one weekend. My grandma had crocheted Colson this most amazingly gorgeous tutu.  Colson absolutely LOVES it.  She feels like such a princess in it and it is so beautiful.  Thank you Grandma!

Adjusting the straps to size.

Time for a pedicure!

First Colson washed Connor's feet.

Then Connor washed Colson's.  Both are pretty ticklish so there were lots of giggles.

Look at that face.  Totally up to something.

Hmmm, what's that?

Just some moss.  (And yes, he is wearing is sister's shoes.)

Another fun afternoon at Papa and JoJo's house.

Colson and Lola.

And the kids enjoying a movie with Auntie Ash.

So that was July!
